To ensure your little one sleeps safely and comfortably both day and night, it is essential to use an appropriate sleeping bag. Nowadays, a sleeping bag is a fundamental part of a newborn's layette, and for good reason. Blankets can easily cover a baby's face, causing overheating. Additionally, a sleeping bag promotes a secure back-sleeping position and prevents dangerous rolling onto the stomach.
Perfect for warm weather and recommended for room temperatures of 18-24 degrees, our lightly padded 1 TOG sleeping bags offer protection and comfort. As a parent, you can also sleep peacefully, knowing your baby is well-protected.
Conventional sleeping bags can restrict your baby's movement as they grow, and blankets often get pushed aside or over the head. Slumbersac has the perfect solution: our sleeping bags with feet. They offer maximum freedom of movement during sleep and prevent your baby from uncovering and getting cold.
The comfortable onesie combines the cosiness of a baby sleeping bag with greater freedom of movement thanks to additional leg extensions and foot openings.
Even when your baby starts to stand and walk, freedom of movement is just as important as during sleep. With foot openings, your baby has plenty of space to explore their surroundings, even while wearing their cosy sleeping bag.
Your little one can be ready for bed and then play a bit before sleeping. In the morning, after waking up, they can start walking easily without the risk of getting tangled in the sleeping bag and falling.
When your baby goes to sleep, the foldable cuffs can be pulled over the feet like socks to keep them warm.
Thanks to the foot openings, little ones can get up and walk around without any problem, eliminating the risk of getting tangled in traditional sleeping bags. This not only promotes healthy sleep with plenty of freedom of movement but also supports your baby's motor development.
Additionally, sleeping bags allow for safe sleep, eliminating the need for a blanket that could shift or cover the face, allowing your little one to dream uninterrupted.
The 1 TOG sleeping bags are equipped with foldable cuffs and anti-slip soles, keeping children's feet warm and ensuring safe walking.
Sleeping bags with feet have a sturdy zipper with a chin guard. Thanks to this reliable protection, there is no risk of the zipper irritating your baby's neck skin.
Particularly practical if your children are still in nappies are the press studs at the crotch for sleeping bags in sizes 60 cm, 70 cm, and 80 cm.
All our sleeping bags are Oeko-Tex 100 certified and free from harmful substances, ensuring a healthy and safe sleep.
The arm openings have press studs, allowing you to enlarge or reduce the opening so that the sleeping bag fits perfectly.
How warm should the sleeping bag be for your baby? Our sleeping bags and sleeping bags with feet are labelled according to the practical English TOG system, making it easy to determine which sleeping bag is most suitable for which season and room temperature. Lightweight for summer, warm for the intermediate seasons, or cosy for winter – our Slumbersac sleeping bags always provide an ideal sleep climate for your little one.
Often in summer, a lightweight sleeping bag and a bodysuit are sufficient. It is easy to check if the baby is too warm: if they sweat on the back of the neck, they should be dressed more lightly. A detailed overview of the different TOG ratings and a guide on what to dress your baby in under the sleeping bag can be found in our TOG guide.
The general rule is: grow out of it, not into it! The sleeping bag should be long and wide enough to allow your baby to move freely. Ideally, your baby's feet should take up about ¾ of the sleeping bag's length. If the freedom of movement in a normal sleeping bag is not enough, our sleeping bags with feet are the ideal solution.
The size of the neck opening is particularly important to prevent your baby from slipping into the sleeping bag and to avoid the risk of strangulation. A practical rule is that a finger should fit between the neck and the sleeping bag's opening. The arm openings must also be suitable – too large openings can cause heat loss and increase the risk of the baby slipping into the sleeping bag. Our children's sleeping bags have practical press studs on the arm openings for a secure fit.
Slumbersac sleeping bags can accompany your child for many years. We offer sleeping bags in seven different sizes, suitable for newborns up to children of ten years old.
Do you want to buy a sleeping bag for older children in sizes 130 cm and 150 cm? You will find a suitable selection in our children's sleeping bag category.
A children's sleeping bag should be chosen so that the child grows out of the sleeping bag, not into it. If the difference to the next size is a maximum of 2 cm, it should be rounded up; for larger differences, it should be rounded down. Our size chart helps you find the right sleeping bag for your child's measurements.
